1. Wear safety glasses and chemical resistant gloves when using this product. Ventilators recommended as well. Choose paint that best suits the surface or use the photospectrometer to find the exact match of the paint for the vehicle surface.
2. Shake the paint product for 1-2 minutes to ensure the paint is well mixed.
3. Apply the paint directly to the chips on the vehicle surface OR apply the paint to the squeegee in the kit and then apply to the surface.
4. Squeegee the paint across the surface until the chips are covered or paint is spread evenly.
5. Use a liberal amount of The Pink Stuff Blending Solution (Shake Well) with the white blending cloth across the surface where paint was applied, wipe over surface without applying much pressure. Go until excess paint dissolves away. Too much pressure will take all the paint away.
6. Buff the area with the microfiber. Repeat as needed with bigger paint chips.
Nix Spectrometer Directions:
1. Prepare the Surface: Clean the car surface thoroughly with a microfiber cloth and a mild cleaner to remove dirt, grease, or wax. Ensure the surface is dry and free of scratches or blemishes, as these may interfere with accurate color readings.
2. Set Up the Nix Spectro L: Power on your Nix Spectro L and connect it to the Nix Toolkit App via Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet. Calibrate the device using the provided calibration tile, following the on-screen instructions.
3. Take a Color Measurement: Place the Nix Spectro L flat against the car's paint surface to block out all external light. Press the measure button within the app to capture the spectral data of the paint color. Take multiple readings from different areas of the car (preferably from shaded, undamaged areas) to ensure consistency.
4. Compare with the TouchUp RX 85 Color System: Use the Nix Toolkit App to analyze the captured spectral data. If you’ve uploaded the TouchUp RX 85 Color Library to the app, match the measured color directly to the closest color within the library. The app will display the closest match based on the spectral data.
5. Verify the Match: Once the color match is identified, visually compare the selected color from the TouchUp RX chart to the car’s paint to confirm the match. If necessary, refine the match by adjusting for variables like paint age, wear, or surface finish.
6. Record and Save the Data: Save the matched color in the app for future reference. Include notes about the car’s make, model, and year to build a color history for repeat customers.
7. Proceed with TouchUp RX Application: After identifying the correct color, use the corresponding TouchUp RX product to repair chips, scratches, or other imperfections in the car’s paint.
