Iron Remover & Wheel Cleaners
Wheel cleaners and iron removers solve two different problems. A wheel cleaner strips brake dust, grease, and road grime off the wheel. An iron remover dissolves the iron particles embedded in paint and wheels that washing leaves behind. The first choice is acid or non-acid, and the wheel finish decides it. Most of these are concentrates, so set your ratio with the dilution calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I use an acid or non-acid wheel cleaner?
Use acid (Chrome Wire & Wheel 755 or Mag Acid 756) on chrome and on OEM clear-coated wheels with heavy brake dust. Use non-acid (Magnum 753 or 3D GLW) on aftermarket, painted, powder-coated, or non-clear-coated wheels, or any time you are not sure what the finish is.
What is the difference between an iron remover and a wheel cleaner?
A wheel cleaner removes the brake dust and grime sitting on the surface. An iron remover dissolves iron particles bonded into paint and wheels, the contamination that makes paint feel rough after a wash. Use iron remover as a decon step before clay, polishing, or a coating.
Why does iron remover turn purple?
The formula reacts with iron particles and changes color where it finds them. The purple shows you exactly where the contamination was and that the product is working. Rinse once the reaction is done, before it dries.
How do I use wheel acid safely?
Work on cool wheels out of direct sun. Wet the wheel and surrounding paint first, treat one wheel at a time, keep the dwell short, never let it dry, and rinse with high pressure. Never mix acid and alkaline products in the same bottle or sprayer.
