A318 Motor Assembly for 2017+ Tempo Spotters
The A318 is the 115V single-stage bypass vacuum motor assembly for Mytee S-300 and S-300H Tempo Spotters built in 2017 and newer. Mytee changed motors on those units, so this is the correct part for a late-model machine and the C316 is the correct part for anything built before 2017. It ships as an assembly with its gaskets, which matters more than it sounds: vacuum is a sealed system, and a motor mounted on a reused or pinched gasket pulls air through that gap instead of through your hose.
Confirm your machine's build year before ordering. Electrical components are final sale. That policy covers vacuum motors, pumps, and heaters, which means this is not a part to order on a guess. Check the serial plate on the unit, and while the machine is apart, replace the filters at the same time. Restricted airflow is one of the quickest ways to shorten the life of a new motor, and a filter costs a fraction of what you are installing.
What Makes it Great:
π― The Correct Part, Not the Bigger One: Specified by Mytee for 2017-and-newer Tempo Spotters. Fitment on these machines is determined by build year, not by picking the higher stage count.
π Gaskets Included: Comes as a complete assembly with sealing gaskets, so you are not reusing a compressed one and wondering why recovery feels weak afterward.
βοΈ Bypass Construction: Cooling air is routed separately from the recovery stream, so the motor is not breathing the wet, dirty air it is pulling off the floor.
π 115V Direct Replacement: Genuine Mytee assembly, so the mount, gasket seat, and electrical connections land where the machine expects them.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I confirm my machine is 2017 or newer?
Check the serial plate on the unit, which carries the build information. The more direct method, if the machine is already open, is to read the part number printed on the motor you are removing. If it says A318 you are in the right place. If it says C316 you have a pre-2017 machine and need that part instead. Given that electrical components are final sale, take the extra two minutes to verify rather than ordering from memory.
Why is this single-stage when the older motor was two-stage? Is that a downgrade?
No, and this trips people up. Stage count is not a quality rating, it is a design choice about how a motor builds suction, and the machine is engineered around a specific motor rather than around a number. Mytee redesigned these units and specified this motor for them. A motor with more stages is not better on a machine that was not built for it, and in some cases it will not physically mount. Match the part to the machine, not to the bigger spec.
Can I fit the C316 instead if I want more water lift?
Do not try it. The C316 is specified for pre-2017 machines and Mytee superseded it for a reason. Even where a motor physically mounts, mismatching a motor to a machine's airflow design and electrical specification can leave you with worse recovery than you started with, a motor running outside its intended load, or a part that will not seat at all. On a final-sale electrical component, that experiment is not refundable.
Do I have to use the included gaskets?
Yes, and use the new ones rather than the old. Gaskets take a permanent set once they have been compressed and heat-cycled, so a reused gasket no longer seals evenly even when it looks intact. Since vacuum is a closed system, a small leak at the motor-to-tank joint bleeds suction from the entire machine, and it presents as a unit that feels weak after a repair rather than as an obvious failure. Seat them clean, seat them flat, and do not over-tighten.
Sales are final. What should I verify before ordering?
Four things. The build year of your machine, from the serial plate. The part number on the motor coming out, if you can read it. That the problem is genuinely the motor and not the switch, the cord, or a clogged filter, since a machine that will not power on at all is usually not a motor fault. And that the motor is actually failed rather than starved, because a restricted hose or packed filter makes a healthy motor feel dead. If any of those are uncertain, call us before ordering.
