Low pH wheel acids will destroy a standard trigger from the inside, usually by corroding the spring and seizing it, so those belong on an acid-resistant head instead. Which spray head should I use for which chemical?

Match the head to the pH and the solvent content, not to what is closest. Neutral and alkaline products, meaning soaps, all-purpose cleaners, interior cleaners, and most degreasers, run fine on a standard head like this one. Low pH wheel acids need an acid-resistant head, because acid attacks the metal spring and the seals. Solvent-carrying products like citrus degreasers and adhesive removers need a chemical-resistant head, since solvents soften standard dip tubes and gaskets. Putting the wrong head on a bottle does not usually fail immediately, it fails next week, often by weeping down the outside of the bottle.

Why won't my spray head prime or draw?

Check the dip tube first, because that is the cause most of the time. It can crack near the head, pop off entirely, kink at the bottom if it was cut too long for the bottle, or sit above the liquid line if the bottle is nearly empty or the tube was cut too short. If the tube is intact and submerged, the next suspect is the piston seal: once it hardens it stops holding vacuum and the head will pull air no matter how many times you squeeze it.

Will it fit my bottle?

If the neck is 28/400, yes. That is the standard thread for 32 oz bottles and it is what every head and cap we sell uses. Bottle height is the second thing to check though. A dip tube is cut for a particular bottle depth, so on a much shorter bottle the tube kinks against the base, and on a taller one it cannot reach the last inch of product.

Why do spray heads fail so quickly in a shop?

Because almost every part of one is in contact with chemical. The spring is usually metal, and anything acidic corrodes it until the trigger seizes. The piston seal hardens with repeated chemical exposure and loses its ability to hold vacuum. The dip tube goes brittle with solvents. And the nozzle clogs when product dries in the orifice between uses. A quick rinse with clean water after each use addresses most of that, and the rest is just the cost of a consumable.

Can I rinse a head out and use it for a different chemical?

You can, but think about what the chemical is going into next. A head that has been running a degreaser or a dressing will carry traces of it into a glass cleaner or a coating prep, and the result looks like a product failure rather than a contamination problem. At this price it is cheaper and faster to dedicate a head to a bottle and leave them paired, which also means your labeled bottles always carry the right trigger.
