LHR15 Backing Plate for Mark III and ES

The RUPES LHR15 backing plate (part 980.027N) is the 125 mm hook-and-loop plate for the LHR15 Mark III and the RUPES LHR15ES polisher, and RUPES's parts diagrams show the same plate on the 12 mm LHR12E Duetto. It bolts to the machine with one center screw: loosen it with the Allen wrench RUPES supplies, turn the new plate slightly until its hub drops onto the drive, and tighten. The back is printed "direct flow" and carries a ring of vent holes that move air through the pad. RUPES specs 150 mm foam pads on this plate for the LHR15ES.

If the center screw is stripped or lost, the RUPES 9.715 backing plate screw is sold separately. Newer machines take a different plate: the LHR15 Mark V and cordless HLR15 use the RUPES Precision Pro 5" backing plate (980.720), and RUPES does not list either plate for the other machine family. Read the model on your polisher's label before ordering, because both plates are 5 inches.
