How to Care for your Nasiol Coating
Nasiol Nano Coatings are the up-and-coming best ceramic coating on the detailing market today. These coatings offer years of protection, unbelievable slickness, and great duration. If you haven't heard of Nasiol coatings then you are missing out because they are one of the few companies (Owned by Arteyka Technologies from Turkey) in the world that blend their own ceramic coatings and don't just slap a private label on someone else's product.
The Frontrunners
Nasiol has 3 products we will use and identify in this blog. The first product is a 3-year coating, and one of their most popular coatings, the ZR53. This coating is known for its easy 1-step installation, 10H hardness, and is the best coating to purchase for first time Nasiol users.
NL272 is the Lamborghini of the Nasiol brand. This coating is a staple for being the best on the market and is sworn by as the only coating many high-end detail shops will use for their ceramic protection program. Like the ZR53, the NL272 coating is a 1-step application that offers 10H hardness in protection while giving super slick hydrophobic (water repelling) properties and the added 5 years of protection over the ZR53's 3 year.
The final frontrunner is the Nasiol Rapid Shine. This is a sprayable coating that can be used on a wet or dry surface and is best used in the ceramic coating maintenance. This is your "booster" coating that reinvigorates the hydrophobics of a ceramic coating providing the slickness to maintain the coating's durability and ease of cleaning.
Why Wash My Coated Car?
Ceramic coatings have a variety of features that allow them to work optimally for your vehicle. Some of the features of Nasiol ceramics include the following;
- Scratch Resistance
- Slick Surface - Harder for Dirt to Stick & Easier to Clean
- Repels Water & Oil
- High Gloss Finish adding to the Vehicle Shine
- Protection from Environmental Factors such as Bird Droppings, Tree Sap, etc.
- Chemical Resistance
- Protection from Deterioration Caused by UV Rays
So in short, ceramic coatings have a lot to offer and you should wash and maintain these assets so that they can keep performing at their best. All of the features come with Nasiol coatings coatings, but it is up to the end user to determine how long the coating will last. Improper maintenance will lead to early coating deterioration, and this is the same for ANY coating on the market today.
Dos & Don'ts for Coating Maintenance
On the other side proper maintenance can make your coating last for years and years, protecting your investment. Here are some Dos and Don'ts for ceramic coating maintenance;
DO |
DON'T |
DO - Use a pH neutral car soap or rinse less alternative. | DON'T - Use dish detergent or any high or low pH soap. Could strip sealants and deteriorate the coating from the surface over time. |
DO - Use a hand washing method or a foaming wash (See Two Bucket Wash Method) |
DON'T - Use Automatic Car Washes! This is a big one, easy and convenient unfortunately doesn't help a ceramic coating last. for multiple reasons (abrasion, high pH soaps, etc.) |
DO - Use Si02 Booster sprays between washes. Nasiol Rapid Shine is an amazing option to restore coating features! |
DON'T - Use dirty equipment when you clean. (Wash Mitts, Towels, etc.) Clean equipment is key for proper maintenance. |
DO - Dry your vehicle and dry with a proper microfiber drying towel. |
DON'T - Use cheap drying towels or shop towels to dry your vehicle, also don't let your vehicle air dry. (Risk of introducing water spots) |
DO - Wash in the shade or in a shop where there is no risk of the soap or water drying quickly on the surface. |
DON'T - Wash in direct sunlight where chemicals and water can dry on the surface and potentially etch the coating. |
DO - Wash the vehicle regularly. A good time to wash the car dirt buildup is visible or becomes excessive. | DON'T - Never wash your car after coating. Just because a coating says X amount of years does not mean it doesn't need a little TLC. |
A Basic DIY Ceramic Coating Washing Guide
Without a Pressure Washer
Please ensure you are washing in the shade or a shop out of direct sunlight and severe winds. We recommend a two bucket wash method, you will need the following;
- Put the Grit Guards in both buckets and fill with water. Put 2 oz. of a pH neutral soap in 1 of the buckets. Leave the second bucket with just water for rinsing.
- Working a quarter of the vehicle at a time, wet the vehicle surface off with a garden hose or pressure washer in order to remove the large pieces of dirt and debris.
- Put your wash mitt in the soapy water bucket and then take to the vehicle surface using crosshatching patterns (Back & Forth).
- When the mitt gets dirty wring it out and then put it into the water-only bucket and rub against the grit guard in the bottom to get rid of most of the heavy dirt and debris.
- After rinsing the mitt in the water bucket put it back into the soap water bucket and then continue scrubbing the first quarter of the vehicle with soap until clean.
- Rinse the vehicle quarter off with your water source and then repeat cleaning to the other 3 quarters of the car.
- Do one final rinse of the vehicle and dry with a microfiber towel. Apply your favorite ceramic booster spray and you’re done!
With a Pressure Washer
Please ensure you are washing in the shade or a shop out of direct sunlight and severe winds. We recommend a rinse & foam method, you will need the following;
- 1 Pressure Washer
- 1 Foam Cannon
- 1 Wash Mitt or Scrub Brush
- pH Neutral Car Soap
- Drying Towel
- Start by wetting the car off with your pressure washer to remove the large pieces of dirt and debris.
- Put some of your pH neutral soap in a foam cannon and connect to the pressure washer. Foam onto the vehicle surface working 1/4 of the vehicle at a time.
- Let the foam drag the dirt off the surface for 2-5 minutes. Use wash mitt (or scrub brush for larger vehicles) to really scrub the surface and remove debris.
- Rinse the soap away.
- Dry the vehicle with a clean microfiber towel.
